November</a> <a href="2022" title="2022">2022</a> in <a href="Lyon" title="Lyon">Lyon</a><a href="#cite_note-1">[1]</a>) war ein <a href="Frankreich" title="Frankreich">französischer</a> <a href="Radrennfahrer" title="Radrennfahrer">Radrennfahrer</a>.

<div class="mw-heading mw-heading2"><h2 id="Radsportkarriere">Radsportkarriere</h2></div>

Henry Anglade wuchs in <a href="Lyon" title="Lyon">Lyon</a> auf. Ein Schulkamerad, der später berühmte Schriftsteller <a href="Albert_Camus" title="Albert Camus">Albert Camus</a>, lud ihn zu Radtouren ein.<a href="#cite_note-2">[2]</a> Schnell fand Anglade heraus, dass seine Sportkameraden ihm nicht folgen konnten, und er trat dem ältesten Lyoner Radsportverein „Vélo Griffon“ bei.<a href="#cite_note-3">[3]</a>

Im Jahre 1956 wurde Anglade zunächst <a href="Unabh%C3%A4ngige_(Radsport)" title="Unabhängige (Radsport)">Unabhängiger</a>, im selben Jahr aber auch Radprofi und brach dafür sein Ingenieurstudium ab. Sein größter Erfolg war der zweite Platz bei der <a href="Tour_de_France_1959" title="Tour de France 1959">Tour de France 1959</a> hinter <a href="Federico_Bahamontes" title="Federico Bahamontes">Federico Bahamontes</a>, vor <a href="Jacques_Anquetil" title="Jacques Anquetil">Jacques Anquetil</a> und <a href="Roger_Rivi%C3%A8re" title="Roger Rivière">Roger Rivière</a>. Dabei wurde er Opfer von rivalisierenden Parteien innerhalb der französischen Mannschaft, die ihn nicht unterstützte.<a href="#cite_note-4">[4]</a> Im selben Jahr wurde er ebenfalls Zweiter in der Tour de Suisse. Bei der <a href="Tour_de_France_1960" title="Tour de France 1960">Tour</a> im Jahre 1960 trug er zwei Tage lang das <a href="Gelbes_Trikot" title="Gelbes Trikot">Gelbe Trikot</a>. <a href="Tour_de_France_1963" title="Tour de France 1963">1963</a> sowie <a href="Tour_de_France_1965" title="Tour de France 1965">1965</a> wurde er Vierter der Tour. 1959 gewann Anglade zudem das <a href="Crit%C3%A9rium_du_Dauphin%C3%A9" title="Critérium du Dauphiné">Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré</a> und wurde französischer Straßenmeister, 1965 errang er den nationalen Titel erneut.

Anglade galt als nicht sonderlich starker Fahrer, aber als brillanter Taktiker. Er war eloquent und geschickt im Umgang mit Journalisten. Die anderen Rennfahrer hingegen lehnten ihn wegen seiner „Rechthaberei“ ab und nannten ihn deshalb und wegen seiner zierlichen Statur „<a href="Napoleon_Bonaparte" title="Napoleon Bonaparte">Napoleon</a>“.<a href="#cite_note-books-NM1jCAAAQBAJ-405-5">[5]</a>

Während der Tour de France im Jahr 1960 war Henry Anglade mit <a href="Strychnin" title="Strychnin">Strychnin</a> gedopt, und es ging ihm gesundheitlich schlecht. Das Strychnin soll ihm ohne sein Wissen von seinem Pfleger verabreicht worden sein. Später gestand er, sich über mehrere Jahre mit Amphetaminen gedopt zu haben.<a href="#cite_note-6">[6]</a>

1966 stürzte Anglade in Führung liegend bei einem <a href="Kriterium_(Radsport)" title="Kriterium (Radsport)">Kriterium</a> in <a href="Mont%C3%A9limar" title="Montélimar">Montélimar</a> schwer<a href="#cite_note-7">[7]</a> und trat vom aktiven Radsport zurück.

Nach seiner Radsportkarriere nahm er zunächst eine Tätigkeit bei der Schreibmaschinenfirma <a href="Olympia-Werke" title="Olympia-Werke">Olympia</a> auf.<a href="#cite_note-velo101.com-8">[8]</a>

Im Jahr 1975 wurde er <a href="Sportlicher_Leiter" title="Sportlicher Leiter">Sportlicher Leiter</a> des <a href="Radsportteam" title="Radsportteam">Radsportteams</a> <a href="Lejeune%E2%80%93BP" title="Lejeune–BP">Lejeune–BP</a>, das dreimal an der Tour de France teilnahm; zu seinen Schützlingen gehörten <a href="Lucien_Van_Impe" title="Lucien Van Impe">Lucien Van Impe</a>, <a href="Roy_Schuiten" title="Roy Schuiten">Roy Schuiten</a> und <a href="Ferdi_Bracke" class="mw-redirect" title="Ferdi Bracke">Ferdi Bracke</a>.<a href="#cite_note-velo101.com-8">[8]</a>

Anglade erlernte die Bleiglaskunst, entwarf und erstellte die <a href="Bleiglasfenster" title="Bleiglasfenster">Bleiglasfenster</a> für die Rennfahrerkapelle <a href="Notre-Dame_des_Cyclistes" title="Notre-Dame des Cyclistes">Notre-Dame des Cyclistes</a> in <a href="Labastide-d%E2%80%99Armagnac" title="Labastide-d’Armagnac">Labastide-d’Armagnac</a>.<a href="#cite_note-books-NM1jCAAAQBAJ-405-5">[5]</a>

Henry Anglade war in Frankreich immer als Werbeträger gefragt. Zuletzt bewarb er für die Firma <a href="Sonova" title="Sonova">Phonak</a> 2008 von ihm getragene Hörgeräte.<a href="#cite_note-9">[9]</a>
